  12. This is a Windows Baseball Statistics Program that will keep track of many
  13. statisics for Leagues, Teams, Players, Hitting, Pitching, Running, Fielding,
  14. and for scheduling Games, Fields, and Umpires. You will be able to keep
  15. notes (up to 32K) on Leagues, Teams, Games, Fields, Umpires, and Players.

  17. if you downloaded or were given a zipped file (MBSnnn.ZIP), you must first
  18. unzip the file with PKUNZIP (or another unzip utility) before installing.
  19.  
  20. To install this Baseball Statistics program, run SETUP.EXE while in Windows.
  21. It will create a windows program group with the icons used to start the
  22. program and copy the program files to a directory. You can uninstall the
  23. program any time by running SETUP again and choosing "Uninstall MBS".

  25. This program can be used by the smallest little leagues all the way up
  26. to major league baseball. The first time you start the program, all the
  27. fields will be blank (unless a sample data file is included). First choose
  28. the Year button to specify what year you want to start with. Next select
  29. the League button to enter the league name(s), then use Team button for
  30. each league to set up team numbers and names. Finally, select the Player
  31. button to add players to the teams.

  33. The tabs at the bottom of the program window allow you to select Teams
  34. (where the team standings are displayed), Players, Hitting, Pitching,
  35. Fielding (where player statistics are displayed), Custom (choose the
  36. statistics you want to see for players), and Schedule (for scheduling
  37. games, fields, and umpires).

  39. The Update button allows you to enter or add to the data fields for teams,
  40. players, and the schedule. The Sort button allows you to sort players by
  41. different data fields. There is a separate sort for offensive, defensive,
  42. and pitching categories. Teams can't be sorted since they are displayed in
  43. standings format (win-lost record and games behind). Sorting the schedule
  44. also allows you to filter it by team or by umpire. That allows you to see
  45. just the games for one team or for one umpire.

  47. The Notes button allows you to enter notes for leagues, teams, players,
  48. fields, games, and umpires. You can use this for player addresses, phone
  49. numbers, etc. The Font button allows you to change the color, size, and
  50. type of font used for text. The Print button prints the current screen or
  51. notes. The Help button displays an About Box and a full help system. The
  52. Exit button quits the program.

  54. You can open and create additional statistic data files through the file
  55. menu. There is no limit to the number of files you can have. Also, through
  56. the file menu, files can be saved as different names and backed up to
  57. diskette for safe keeping.

  59. When you register this copy of MBS, you will receive a license for the use
  60. of the registered version of the software and your registration number.
  61. The most current version of the program will also be sent to you.

  63. Here are some of the suggestions already made for program enhancements:

  65. 1. Add the ability to open and close multiple data files and allow copying
  66.    (merging, importing & exporting) between files. This will allow many
  67.    people to keep track of their teams or leagues and have a way to put
  68.    them all together at a later date.
  69.  
  70. 2. Display league leaders in different catagories (user's choice).
  71.  
  72. 3. Add additional statistical fields (wild pitches, passed balls, etc.)
  73.  
  74. 4. Add titles and multiple true-type fonts to the printed reports.
